Layer the reminders
One reminder is not enough for a court date. A sensible pattern is thirty days to prepare or instruct someone, fourteen days to gather and copy documents, seven days to confirm the venue and time, and the day before for travel, parking and identification.

Adjournments and new dates
Court dates move. When a hearing is adjourned or relisted, update the item with the new date and every reminder recalculates from it — the old schedule stops immediately, so you are never chased about a date that no longer exists.

Nothing about the nature of a case has to be recorded. A title like "Hearing — county court, 10:00" is enough for the reminder to work. Notes and reference fields are optional, entries are private to your account, and you decide item by item whether anything is shared with a family member.
