Quality of life
Universal healthcare (subject to registration), low cost of living relative to Western Europe, strong cultural life. Hungarian is difficult and largely essential outside Budapest expat bubbles.
Immigration trends
The White Card (Digital Nomad Visa) launched in 2022 and remains active; the Guest Investor route replaced the old real-estate Golden Visa in mid-2024.
