Why Oman?
Oman opened a proper long-stay Investor Residency in 2021 (5 or 10 years) and is progressively liberalising Employment Visa rules through the Ministry of Labour's 'Sanad' and 'Tanfeedh' economic diversification programmes. There is no personal income tax and the Omani rial is pegged to the USD.
How the immigration system works
The Royal Oman Police (ROP) Directorate General of Passports and Residence controls visas; the Ministry of Labour handles labour clearances; the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion runs the Investor Residency programme in coordination with the ROP.
Who Oman is best for
- Skilled professionals with an Omani employer (Employment Visa)
- Investors of OMR 250,000+ (Investor Residency Programme)
- Retirees on the Retirement Residence pilot
- Family members of resident visa holders
- GCC and short-stay business visitors (eVisa)
