Saudi Arabia Saudi eVisa (Tourist): Entry Requirements at the Border

Holding a Saudi eVisa (Tourist) is not the same as being admitted. This guide covers the documents, declarations, health rules and customs limits that border officers actually check when you arrive in Saudi Arabia — and the patterns that get otherwise valid travellers turned away.

Saudi entry rules combine some of the world's most open visa policy (instant eVisa for 66 nationalities) with some of the strictest customs and behavioural rules — the visa is easy, the border is not.

How long can I stay?

Up to 90 days per entry — subject to the officer's discretion at the port of entry.

Is travel insurance required?

Yes — travel medical insurance is mandatory and must be presented at the border or as part of the visa.

What about cash and customs?

Strict ban on alcohol, narcotics, pork products, pornographic material and Israeli flags. Personal medications must be in original packaging with prescription; codeine and tramadol require a controlled-drug import permit.

Yellow fever certificate required for travellers arriving from at-risk countries. Meningococcal ACWY vaccine is compulsory for Hajj and Umrah visa holders, recommended for all visitors.

Can I be refused entry even with a visa?

Do I need proof of funds?

No formal minimum, but officers may ask to see a hotel reservation and a confirmed return ticket.
